Sponsorship and Community Involvement
One of Bishop-Wisecarver’s core values says “supporting and giving back to our community is essential” - and we mean it. We have spent the last seven decades helping the region around Pittsburg, California as well as our “virtual” community where we provide support for programs, organizations and people around the globe.
Our community support includes providing funds, mentors, technical support and speakers for a variety of groups. The majority of these groups focus on helping students learn about STEM and the diverse opportunities in the manufacturing industry.

MFG Day
Manufacturing Day, produced by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) and The Manufacturing Institute, is an annual, national event that seeks to inspire the next generation of manufacturers. Manufacturers in the United States need to fill 4.6 million jobs by 2028 and Bishop-Wisecarver has hosted on site and virtual experiences for students since 2011.
FIRST Robotics Competition
FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) was founded in 1989 to inspire an appreciation of science and technology in young people and now includes several different competitions for various age groups and interests. The 2021 FRC virtual program includes more than 2,900 teams with 73,000 youth team members from 28 countries around the globe.
Bishop-Wisecarver has been a FIRST sponsor since 2007 and is a Gold Supplier for 2021.
