Certifications

Bishop-Wisecarver is compliant under the RoHS guidelines. This directive restricts (with exceptions) the use of six hazardous materials in the manufacture of various types of electronic and electrical equipment. It is closely linked with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE) 2002/96/EC which sets collection, recycling and recovery targets for electrical goods and is part of a legislative initiative to solve the problem of huge amounts of toxic e-waste.

Continuing in our demonstrated commitment to total quality assurance, Bishop-Wisecarver is registered with the US Department of State as an ITAR compliant manufacturer. As the ITAR regulations are intended to ensure that delivery of both military product and related technical information only be shared with US persons, export of Bishop-Wisecarver military product is handled via a rigorous process of screening, documentation and export license application through the Department of State’s DTRADE system. We are pleased to have earned the Bay Area Green Business Program Certificate, which verifies that our businesses practices meet a higher standard that better protects the environment. The Bay Area Business Program partners with government agencies and utilities to help local businesses comply with environmental regulations that aim to conserve resources, prevent pollution, reduce waste and shrink our carbon footprint.

We are proud to have earned a woman-owned certification by the Women's Business Enterprise National Council, also known as WBENC. This organization was founded more than 10 years ago and is the largest third-party certifier of businesses owned, controlled and operated by women in the United States. This national, nonprofit group partners with 14 Regional Partner Organizations to provide its national standard of certification to women-owned businesses throughout the country. It is also the nation's leading advocate of women-owned businesses as suppliers to America's corporations.
